ADRIENNE WING
Adrienne has been practising law since 1994, and joined the independent bar as a Barrister in 2009, on joining Southern Cross Chambers.
Adrienne has experience acting for a wide range of clients in the private and public sectors, both for corporates and individuals. She has practised in both New Zealand and Australia, working for law firms Simpson Grierson (Auckland) and Gilbert & Tobin (Sydney); and as in house counsel for TelstraClear and Senior Legal Counsel for the Commerce Commission.
She is experienced in both prosecution work (as Senior Legal Counsel at the Commerce Commission) and defence work (as a criminal barrister).
Adrienne also has experience in the public sector in the area of social policy and advice, restructuring and privatisation issues, and government administration.
She is currently a member of the Chinese Medicine Council of New Zealand, a government committee established under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act to regulate Chinese medicine health practitioners.
Adrienne’s other area of practice is as a Mental Health lawyer. She is also a former lawyer for the New Beginnings Court (Te Kooti o Timatanga Hou) at the Auckland District Court, which deals with those who are without permanent accommodation and have mental health or addiction issues. Adrienne worked closely with those who were homeless, and developed a privacy and confidentiality regime for the Court.
She is a Lexis - Nexis author (Sim’s Court Practice and The Laws of New Zealand).
